Visit from Sekope Kepu
Today at team 4 assembly we had a special guest Sekope Kepu a Australian rugby union player. Sekope Kepu gave a speech about his experience growing up in Glen Innes and his career. Sekope Kepu has 4 children that go to Pt England School Faith Rose a year 8, Israel year 5, Isaiah year 4 and there little baby sister. Sekope Kepu was born in Australia but raised in Glen Innes. He started playing rugby at the Tamaki rugby club at the age 6. Sekope Kepu played for the Wallabies, Waratahs, in londen, in France and for the Steelers. He started running around the block on the Pt England Road, Elstree, Taniwha, Line road when he was young. Sekope Kepu's speech was also about following his dream of playing rugby, but to always make sure to put God first. Last year Sekope Kepu and his small family went to london, they had to stay there for 12 months due to covid. The children had to be home-schooled. Thank you Sekope Kepu for the strong speech you gave us and for taking the time off your day to talk to us. I’m so proud of how he achieved his goal and made it so far. It makes me feel like I can achieve my goal like him.
